Reading coffee grounds grew up with the coffee houses of the Ottoman world, and Turkish coffee culture is inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The reading traditionally follows a small ritual:
Position is part of the meaning: the rim speaks of now, the base of what is far, the handle of your side of the story. Add side views after your photo to let the reader see them.
The full ritual, guided: drink and wish, turn the cup, seal it with a coin, let it cool — then read the cup walls and the saucer together, in the storyteller voice of the old coffee houses.

Your selected photo — and any optional side views — is decoded in your browser, resized to approximately 1600 pixels on its longest edge, converted to JPEG, and stripped of embedded metadata before upload. The compressed copies and optional question are sent to our reading endpoint and its AI processing provider solely to return your reading. Do not upload faces, identification documents, or sensitive information.
We submit your email only after you tick the consent box. Anonymous product events may include a random session identifier, page path, campaign tags, technical outcome codes, and actions such as sharing or feedback; they do not include your image, reading text, question, or email. We do not sell personal information.
If you buy extra readings, checkout and payment details are handled by Stripe under their privacy policy. We receive only an anonymous payment reference to credit your readings; we never see or store your card details.
You can close the page to clear its temporary image preview. Your past readings are kept only in this browser and can be cleared anytime from the history panel. Email messages include an unsubscribe option. For access or deletion questions, contact privacy@cupread.app. Our service providers may process data under their own retention and security terms.
Cup Read is an experimental entertainment and reflection product for adults aged 18 and over. Results are AI-generated, can be inaccurate, and are not supernatural claims, guarantees, or medical, legal, financial, relationship, or mental-health advice. Do not make important decisions based solely on a reading.
Paid reading packs are one-time purchases processed by Stripe, expire after 30 days, and are tied to this browser session; clearing site data can make remaining credits unrecoverable, so contact us with your receipt if that happens. One free reading is offered daily and may be withdrawn or limited at any time during the beta.
